ICA, insurers to revisit Rochester for community information session

“We understand the devastating severe weather events and resulting damage that occurred last October is still very fresh and raw for the Rochester community,” said ICA CEO Kylie Macfarlane.

“The general information the ICA team will cover at the community information session is invaluable for insurance customers impacted by the flood and is designed to help all policyholders, but particularly those that have never made an insurance claim.”

The community information session will be held on Wednesday, January 18, at the 4 R’s (Rochester Lawn Tennis Club) from 5pm.

Aside from the information, insurers will provide personal consultations with flood-affected customers on a drop-in basis on Thursday, January 19, at the same venue from 10am to 6pm.

“Insurers will join the ICA, enabling customers to meet directly with their insurer to discuss their individual claims,” Macfarlane said.

To date, insurers have received over 13,255 claims across Victoria from the October event, with more than 8,520 property claims and 1,789 motor vehicle claims.

One of the insurers’ most recent community information sessions was held in December 2022 at Eugowra and Forbes, where more than 4,280 claims have been lodged for flood damage.
