Gracie Point Holdings, LLC, a provider of life insurance premium finance, has closed a recent equity capital raise led by funds advised by Hudson Structured Capital Management Ltd. (HCSM) and Searchlight Capital Partners, L.P., providing the firm with “deep industry expertise and operational support.”

Gracie Point serves clients throughout North America and Asia via its offices in New York, Toronto, and Hong Kong.

This is the company’s fifth capital raise, and the proceeds from this latest equity raise will be used to strengthen its balance sheet and fund growth.

The raise was led by HSCM, the reinsurance, insurtech, insurance-linked securities (ILS) and transportation focused investment manager, and global private investment firm, Searchlight.

“We are delighted to welcome Searchlight, a leading private equity investment firm, into our group of investors. Our existing partners stepping up to fund our growth is a testament to the strength and scalability of our platform,” said Harish Raghavan, Chief Executive Officer, Gracie Point.

By partnering with Searchlight and HSCM, the company stands to benefit from extensive industry knowledge and operational support, as well as the additional capital, which Gracie Point expects to strengthen its market position as it scales.

“The life insurance industry is undergoing a dramatic shift in complexion. We believe Gracie Point can be a partner to the industry as the industry re-thinks its core offerings to their end consumers,” said Vikas Singhal, Partner at HSCM Bermuda.

Recall that back in 2021, we reported on HSCM’s investment in Gracie Point, with the former noting at the time that it was a long-term investor in the life insurance sector specialty lender and premium finance firm.

Andrew Frey, Partner at Searchlight, added, “We are excited to partner with Gracie Point. Life insurance is perhaps the last major asset class where consumers don’t have a readily available financing market. We believe Gracie Point can unlock that capability and be the first mover into a very significant, and deep asset-backed market globally.”

Goldman Sachs served as exclusive financial advisor, and Winston Strawn LLP served as legal advisor to Gracie Point.

Citigroup Global Markets Inc. served as financial advisor, Oliver Wyman LLC served as commercial advisor, and Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz served as legal advisor to Searchlight.
