Canadian health insurance provider Group Medical Services (GMS) has partnered with no-code insurance SaaS (software as a service) platform CoverGo to digitally transform its health insurance ecosystem.

GMS will implement CoverGo’s modular core insurance platform to manage employee benefits, including comprehensive health, dental, and life insurance, as well as individual health and travel insurance across Canada.

The no-code product builder and advanced policy and claims management capabilities of CoverGo will allow GMS to launch tailored products swiftly, leverage digital distribution, reduce operational costs, and improve customer interactions.

Mark MacLeod (pictured left), president and chief executive of GMS, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating: “We are excited to partner with CoverGo to accelerate our digital transformation, futureproof our business, and provide an exceptional experience for our customers.

“CoverGo’s innovative platform coupled with health insurance expertise of the team has made our collaboration with CoverGo efficient and smooth since 2023.”

Meanwhile CoverGo founder and CEO Tomas Holub (pictured right) shared similar sentiments, saying: “We are delighted to assist GMS on their journey towards digital transformation. GMS has shown a clear commitment to digitize and streamline their health insurance ecosystem in an efficient and scalable way using our platform.

“It’s also a validation of CoverGo’s health insurance capabilities, with leading health insurers across the globe adopting our platform.”

Set up more than seven decades ago, GMS joins other CoverGo clients like AXA, Bupa, MSIG, and Dai-ichi Life. The business operates nationwide, specializing in supplemental health and travel insurance as well as group benefits.

Earlier this year, GMS was recognized as a top employer in Saskatchewan.

“The key driver of our success is our people,” MacLeod said at the time. “The can-do attitude and drive they bring to their work in every role makes all the difference. Our staff are dedicated to fulfilling our commitment to our customers today – and to working towards a future where we will bring the GMS difference to even more customers in our home province and beyond.

“In return, we invest in a work environment that supports and encourages people to contribute their best and recognizes and rewards their performance. We’re also proud to be a Saskatchewan-based business, offering career opportunities and contributing to the economy of our home community.”
