GIS expands leadership suite with key additions

Network now spans more than 35,000 alumni and 4,000 students

Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS), a risk management and insurance-focused collegiate talent organization, has introduced the appointment of two senior staff members: Lindsay Spann (pictured left) as vice president of development and equity initiatives, and Jazmin Jones (pictured right) as manager of chapter operations and university programs.

The GIS network now encompasses over 35,000 alumni and 4,000 students spread across nearly 150 colleges and universities spanning 40 states.

Spann, MHRM, SHRM-CP, brings over a decade of leadership experience in directing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. According to her LinkedIn, she had prior experience as the program manager of culture and engagement at IAT Insurance Group where she led employee engagement and DEI efforts, collaborating with executives to cultivate a thriving organizational culture.

Spann holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from James Madison University and a master’s in human resources management from the University of Richmond. Spann is also a certified professional through the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP).

Jones, MPH, CHES, was formerly an assistant director of peer education initiatives at NASPA-Student Affairs Administrators in higher education. In this capacity, she provided oversight and strategic planning for peer education programs and NASPA volunteer groups.

According to her LinkedIn, she is currently pursuing her doctorate in educational administration from Texas A&M University. Jones earned her master of public health from Indiana University Bloomington and holds a bachelor’s degree in health services management from Indiana University Purdue – University Indianapolis.
