Generali names CEOs of recently acquired Malaysian businesses

Following the acquisition of the AXA’s joint ventures in Malaysia, Generali has appointed Rebecca Tan (pictured above left) and Fabrice Benard (pictured above right) as CEOs of AXA Affin Life Insurance and AXA Affin General Insurance, respectively.

The acquisitions resulted in Generali now holding the second-largest P&C insurance market share in Malaysia.

Tan has more than 25 years’ experience in distribution, marketing and customer experience management across the retail banking and insurance industries. Most recently, Tan was chief distribution and marketing officer for Generali’s life businesses Hong Kong and handled integrated marketing management for both general and life businesses in Hong Kong. Before joining Generali, Tan spent almost 10 years with AXA Affin Life Insurance.

Benard has over 20 years of technical and strategic experience in general insurance, actuarial, risk management, financial, bancassurance and M&A. He was most recently assigned at Generali’s Asia regional office in Hong Kong, where he led the P&C function. Prior to that, he held a variety of roles with AXA, Credit Agricole, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Zurich across the Europe and Gulf regions.

“Congratulations to Rebecca Tan and Fabrice Benard on their respective appointments as CEO of AALI and CEO of AAGI,” said Rob Leonardi, regional officer of Generali Asia. “I am confident that their leadership and expertise, along with KM (Krishnamoorthy) Rao at MPI Generali, will strengthen our Malaysian operations and drive our growth plans forward.”
