Generali Hong Kong launches campaign to support SMEs in achieving sustainability

“Being a lifetime partner to our customers, Generali has been taking multidirectional efforts to enable people to shape a safer and more sustainable future,” said David Fontaine, chief insurance officer of Generali Hong Kong.

The campaign comes as Generali Hong Kong takes a “significant step forward” in promoting sustainability and encouraging SMEs to adopt environmentally friendly practices, a press release from the company said.

Sustainability is at the heart of Generali’s Lifetime Partner 24: Driving Growth strategy, the release said, with the company’s recent efforts to build a net-zero economy that include integrating environmental and climate aspects into its strategies, as well as raising public awareness of environmental and climate risks.

“In Hong Kong, we want to protect the environment as it is a key asset to be preserved for the future generations. We thereby define our core business activities by taking account of our Climate Change strategy,” Fontaine said. “By launching the Go Green Campaign, we aim to better support our SME customers who are sharing the same commitment with us, to combat climate change for a greener future.”

SMEs eligible for the Go Green Campaign should not have more than 100 staff in operation. The insured location must also be part of the BEAM Plus New/Existing Building scheme, recognised by Hong Kong Green Building Council.

In November, Generali Asia appointed Cecilia Chang as CEO of Generali Life (Hong Kong) Limited and general manager of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. Hong Kong Branch.
