Gallagher swoops for Ausure Coast & Country

Gallagher has acquired Ausure Coast & Country (ACC) to further expand its existing business footprint on the Sunshine Coast.

The Sunshine Coast-based insurance brokerage has a strong track record of serving clients not only in the Sunshine Coast but also in Cooroy and Bundaberg and has grown in recent years, mainly through positive word of mouth and referrals. Its team of five insurance professionals who will join Gallagher has a combined 100 years of expertise, including specialist knowledge in business insurance across farming, plant and machinery, construction, and marine.

The acquisition will see ACC use the Gallagher brand and offer its clients access to a range of services and specialists, such as industry expertise, claims advocacy, placement capabilities, and access to global markets.

“I’m delighted to welcome Scott Fawke and the team from Ausure Coast & Country to Gallagher. Their expertise fits well with our business as we have existing specialisms such as agriculture, construction, and marine. Geographically, there is also a good story to tell, given the ongoing growth evident and predicted for the region,” said Gallagher Australia chief executive Sarah Lyons.

“There are over 33,000 local businesses in the Sunshine Coast region with a gross regional product of $18.5 billion. With the addition of Ausure Coast & Country to our business, Gallagher is building our local knowledge while expanding the offerings available to those in the area, leveraging our specialisms and global access to service both new and existing clients.”

The acquisition is part of Gallagher’s ongoing expansion strategy and is the seventh merger completed by Gallagher Australia over the past seven months. It follows the acquisition of Melbourne-based insurance brokerage Smart Insurance Services and JLS Insurance Consulting in November.
