Gallagher fortifies renewable energy team


Gallagher has announced the appointment of Huw Turner as a partner in its renewable energy team. He will report to executive partner Gavin Tidman, and will work closely with Duncan Gordon, Gallagher’s head of renewables, as the company expands its renewables team to meet increasing client demand.

Turner has 25 years of experience in the energy sector. He joins Gallagher from Price Forbes, where he was a director with responsibility for Africa, Latin America and Europe. Prior to joining Price Forbes in 2018, Turner developed an insurance-backed mitigation product for geothermal downhole exploration risks.

On the project development side, he worked on a variety of startup, development and upstream ventures, mainly power and resource projects in Sub-Saharan Africa. Turner has extensive knowledge of the power, environmental and associated regulatory sectors in the region, and has worked for Sandpiper Power, InfraCo Africa, CKRe and Agil. he has also served as an independent consultant for the renewable power sector.
