Gallagher acquires Sunshine Coast brokerage

6 December 2022

Queensland-based Ausure Coast & Country (ACC) has been acquired by Gallagher, which says the brokerage has a strong track record of serving clients across the Sunshine Coast, Cooroy and Bundaberg.

Birtinya-based ACC was founded in 2013 and has grown in recent years through positive word of mouth and referrals. A team of five insurance professionals led by MD Scott Fawke join Gallagher, bringing specialist knowledge in business insurance across farming, plant & machinery, construction and marine.

“Geographically there is also a good story to tell given the ongoing growth evident and predicted for the region,” Gallagher Australia CEO Sarah Lyons said.

“With the addition of Ausure Coast & Country to our business, Gallagher is building our local knowledge while expanding the offerings available to those in the area,” she said, noting over 33,000 local businesses in the Sunshine Coast region with a gross regional product of $18.5 billion.

Gallagher has announced seven other acquisitions in as many months, including Victorian brokerages Smart Insurance Services, JLS Insurance Consulting and National Insurance Group.

ACC will now use the Gallagher brand and offer clients access to Gallagher industry expertise, claims advocacy, placement capabilities and access to global markets.

“This addition builds on Gallagher’s industry expertise in liability, residential, farm, commercial motor and business insurance and … grows our general insurance footprint on the Sunshine Coast,” Gallagher said.
