Financial Services Council (FSC) of New Zealand board chair Rob Flannagan will conclude his tenure with the organization in December 2023. Flanagan has been with the council since 2015.

“Under Rob’s steadfast leadership and guidance, the FSC has evolved into a highly influential industry body, one that member companies can take pride in being a part of. As the head of the FSC board, he has exhibited strength, competence, and a strategic approach,” FSC deputy chair Naomi Ballantyne said in a news release.

The organization listed some of Flannagan’s key accomplishments during his tenure, including:

Establishing the FSC as a prominent advocate for the sector through active involvement in policy, regulatory matters, political engagement, media presence, research, and data analysis
Significantly expanding the FSC’s membership from 29 to 115 members
Delivering value to members through initiatives such as the revitalization of the member website and the organization of sector-specific events
Leading the transformation of the FSC’s vision from solely being the voice of the sector to fostering the financial confidence and well-being of New Zealanders

FSC deputy chair Nigel Jackson also acknowledged Flannagan’s contribution in shaping the FSC.

“He will be leaving the FSC in a really strong position: as a strong and effective voice of the sector making great strides in its vision to grow the financial confidence and wellbeing of New Zealanders,” Jackson said. “The FSC board members, and wider industry and stakeholders wish him well in the next stage of his journey.”
