Former Rogers Communications CEO joins Sun Life board

Sun Life has appointed former Rogers Communications president and CEO Joseph Natale to its board of directors.

Natale has also previously served as Telus CEO and has more than 30 years of experience in large corporate and global consulting roles. Prior to joining Telus, which he left in 2015, Natale served as a global managing director, consulting at KPMG.

Toronto-based Natale also holds board positions with the Home Capital Group and the Hospital for Sick Children. He is on the advisory board of investment firm Altas Partners.

“As a new director, Mr. Natale sees strong alignment between key areas of Sun Life’s business and strategic priorities and his own passions and expertise, which includes customer experience transformation, go-to-market strategies, technology enablement, and the health and wellness sector,” Sunlife said in a press release.

“His experience and perspective will be invaluable as Sun Life continues to evolve and adapt to the rapidly changing digital landscape.”

Natale has experience overseeing growth and transformation drives, including through acquisitions and new brand and business launches, Sun Life said in the press release. It also pointed to his past digital transformation and consumer experience oversight.

Natale left Rogers in 2021, with a $14 million severance package, BNN Bloomberg has reported. The exit followed a governance clash with the company’s founder’s son, according to the report.
