Federal Government seeks applications for ARPC Chair, members

12 December 2022

The Federal Government is inviting applications for the role of Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation (ARPC) Chair as well as for board positions.

An advertisement says experience and understanding in areas such as government, the insurance market, cyclone-affected areas, accounting, weather and meteorology and board membership would be highly regarded.

“The successful applicants will shape strategic thinking, achieve results, exemplify personal drive and integrity, cultivate productive working relationships and communicate with influence,” the advertisement in Friday’s edition of The Australian Financial Review says.

The part-time positions are statutory appointments for a period of up to four years, with board meetings held in Sydney. Applications are due by January 8.

The board, which consists of a chair and six-to-eight members, is currently led by Ian Carson, whose term is due to expire at June 30 next year. Two members, Robin Low and Maria Fernandez have terms extending to April 22 next year, the ARPC website shows.
