Featured – the “best of the best” Australian insurance industry CEOs 2023

CHU CEO Kimberley Jonsson

One of Australia’s leading strata insurance specialists, Kimberley Jonsson has worked across multiple jurisdictions and held various underwriting sales and management roles. She is also one of the youngest CEOs in the Australian financial services sector.

With Jonsson’s wealth of experience and knowledge of the strata insurance industry and the strata community, it’s not surprising that she made it to this year’s Hot List.

Jonsson was named Young Insurance Professional of the Year at the Australian Insurance Industry Awards 2017. Moreover, she is a fellow of ANZIIF and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and she holds an MBA from AIM Business School.

Gallagher Bassett Australia CEO Pete Nicholson

Pete Nicholson has nearly 25 years of experience working in global environments. In 2022, he took on the role of CEO of GB Australia, leading the company in extending its contract with Worksafe Victoria by two years to 2025, renewing its icare general lines and HBCF contracts, and being deemed one of the providers to the icare Nominal Insurer Scheme.

Nicholson’s colleagues described him as “an energetic and authentic leader, guiding businesses [with their] growth and outcomes in a consistent, engaging, and transparent fashion.

In an interview with IB, Nicholson said his success resulted from working across a broad range of industries and roles in finance and operations in Australia, Europe, and the United States.

“This experience has broadened my leadership style and established a core set of values that really drive me to care about each and every person who is a part of our business,” he said.
