Exhibitors, pitches teed up for InsurtechLIVE next week

Report proposes 'self-funding' insurance model for export industries

Insurtech Australia says it has a lineup of 15 speakers, 10 exhibitors and 6 pitches – with more to come – ahead of its inaugural InsurtechLIVE half day conference in Sydney next week.

The insurtech community is invited to the February 15 afternoon event at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) where senior executives from QBE, Hollard, Honey, Munich Re and other insurance experts will share their insights. It will be attended by more than 25 insurtechs as well as 15 insurers and IA corporate partners.

“What really makes our event unique is the opportunity to hear our members pitch, see their demos and speak directly with our founders. There is lots of time for networking, catching up and meeting new members,” Insurtech Australia said.

“Let’s get back to what we do best: connecting, collaborating and growing our ecosystem to make Australia a world leader in insurtech and insurance innovation.”

Booths and networking kick off at noon and further networking is supported by IA’s evening reception sponsor Hollard from 5pm. Throughout the afternoon, there will be panels focused on investor views on insurtech, leveraging data and what it means for the future of insurance, and how customer value is created amid digital transformation.

In the lineup, a keynote speech will be delivered by Honey Insurance Founder and CEO Richard Joffe.

An investors panel will feature Zemble CEO and Co-Founder Aurora Voss, QBE Ventures CEO James Orchard, Insurtech Gateway Australia CEO Simon O’Dell and Full Circle Venture Capital Investment Director Dan Winter

“Leveraging Data and the Future of Insurance” will be discussed by EY Partner Ashish Verma, Munich Re Head of Analytics & Innovation Matt Weaver, and Cover Genius VP Strategic Partnerships-Shipping (Global) Justin Turner.
