Everest Re, the reinsurance underwriting arm of global re/insurer Everest, has announced the promotion of Emily Davis, who has been appointed as the Head of Global Specialties, a role that will see her with responsibility for parametric reinsurance solutions.

In her new role, Davis will report to Jill Beggs, Reinsurance Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

As Head of Global Specialties, Davis will lead a major business at Everest Re that includes reinsuring Aviation, Marine, Cyber, Engineering, and Parametric Solutions.

Davis was most recently Everest Reinsurance’s Vice President and Global Head of Engineering. She joined the company in 2020 as an engineering and construction underwriter, before becoming an assistant VP of short tail treaty reinsurance in early 2023, then steeping into the Global Head of Engineering position later that year.

Before joining Everest, Davis worked at reinsurer TransRe, where she spent almost seven years working across global actuarial and underwriting roles of increasing responsibility, covering lines of business including Construction, Downstream Energy and Property.

Davis began her career as an Actuarial Analyst at Aon in 2011.

With parametric risk transfer a growth area, the opportunities for reinsurance divisions, such as Everest Re, to provide capacity to back the growing range of parametric insurance products, insurers and MGA’s are expanding and reinsurance capacity to support parametric portfolios is only going to become increasingly important over time.

“Emily has been instrumental in the development and growth of Everest’s dedicated Global Specialties business, which has expanded alongside increasing market demand since its launch earlier this year,” Jill Beggs commented.
