Erie Insurance names diversity and inclusion VP


Erie Insurance has announced the appointment of Lance Hyde (pictured above) as vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). In his new role, Hyde will lead the company’s DEI team and related enterprise initiatives. He will report to Chris Marsh, chief diversity and community development officer at Erie.

Hyde has more than 15 years of experience in diversity and inclusion, including significant expertise in supplier diversity and sustainability. He joins Erie from Pittsburgh-based Koppers International, where he served as director of global inclusion and diversity. Prior to joining Koppers, Hyde served in various leadership roles at EQT Corporation, including diversity manager and director of supplier diversity.

“I am excited to welcome Lance to the Erie family and the Erie Community,” Marsh said. “With his demonstrated collaborative work style and results-driven approach, I’m confident Lance is well-equipped to help lead Erie through our next evolution of DEI.”

Hyde is recognized nationally for his DEI thought leadership and expertise in supplier diversity. He has participated in more than 50 panel discussions on various topics throughout his career and has been featured in national and regional media.
