Delta Underwriting, a specialist underwriting firm that is part of the Delta Insurance Group, has announced a new coverage package for small and medium-seized businesses (SMEs).

The underwriter said that its Smart Business Essentials package includes several cost-effective solutions for dealing with the exposures SMEs face on a daily basis.

“Developing relevant solutions to help our clients deal with their business challenges is at the forefront of what we do,” said Eugene Cheong, managing director at Delta Underwriting.

“Delta’s mission is to keep businesses and communities protected and give them the confidence and security to succeed. We are a safety net, and we provide certainty when there are so many unknowns. By creating a more resilient and sustainable world, businesses can thrive knowing they are protected as we help them to recover quickly from difficulty or loss.”

SMEs are often vulnerable from the uncertainties in the market because of supply chain issues, labour shortages, and other threats from climate change to cybercrime attacks.

In order to help in addressing their vulnerabilities, Delta Underwriting’s package includes commercial legal expenses, family legal expenses, and personal cyber protection insurance as well as a value-add inclusion to any of the underwriter’s existing products. It also has a Smart Business Essential package, which offers a commercial legal expenses coverage that will provide the business with legal pursuit and defence costs that are not covered by the current standard policies in liability.

The package’s family legal expenses cover protects the employee as well as their immediate family members when it comes to the potential costs of taking legal action. The personal cyber protection insurance covers unauthorized online transactions and protection of mobile banking transactions. It also includes a risk tool that informs users regarding their registered phone number, email address and credit card number.

“In a world of uncertainty, having the right protection in place is critical,” said Cheong. “We believe that this protection is essential for a thriving business which is why we provide this cover at no additional cost alongside our other policies.”
