Insurance-focused professional services and technology business Davies is rebranding Afirm, the risk services firm it acquired in 2023.

A provider of premium audit and loss control inspection services across personal and commercial lines in the US and Canada, Afirm will be taking on its new owner’s branding. As part of the change, Mark deWaal (pictured left) and Stephen White (pictured right) have also assumed new roles.

Now premium audit head is deWaal, who will oversee premium audit services and take charge of the Davies office in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as senior manager. The Davies’ senior leadership team member joined the premium audit field in 1992.

White, meanwhile, was promoted to head of loss control. He will be responsible for field services as part of Davies’ residential and commercial loss control inspections while leading the Fort Collins office in Colorado. With Davies since May 2007, White has over 16 years of industry experience.

Both deWall and White will report to Jose Bridges, president of risk services at Davies.

Commenting on the appointments, Bridges said: “The successful acquisition of Afirm has helped boost Davies’ portfolio within risk services, allowing us to expand our North American offering to include all 50 states and Canada.

“Following the rebrand from Afirm to Davies and the successful integration, I am confident that Stephen and Mark’s leadership will further strengthen our premium audit and loss control operations for our clients, as we continue to prioritize delivering excellent customer service and high-quality services for both personal and commercial lines.”
