INSUREtrust has been integrated into the wholesale brokerage division of insurance distributor CRC Group to form a new cyber practice unit.

In its announcement, CRC Group said INSUREtrust president and chief executive Christiaan Durdaller (pictured) will be in charge of the combined entity.

“INSUREtrust’s exclusive products will significantly augment CRC’s excellent capabilities to address the evolving needs of clients in the cyber insurance landscape,” Durdaller said.

“This strategic integration underscores INSUREtrust’s and CRC’s capability to deliver innovative and tailored solutions to meet the dynamic challenges of the modern business environment.”

Based in Atlanta, INSUREtrust is a specialty insurance business known for its unique policy form that was designed to explicitly cover exposures associated with the internet’s emerging digital risks. Prior to merging with the wholesale brokerage division, INSUREtrust was part of CRC Group subsidiary Starwind Specialty Insurance Services.

For Mike Brennan, CEO of commercial solutions at CRC Group, the move to incorporate INSUREtrust into the business is a “testament to our dedication” to staying at the industry’s forefront. The move is seen as a boost to CRC Group’s cyber capabilities and to INSUREtrust’s network.

“With INSUREtrust’s expertise in cyber insurance, we are poised to offer our clients unparalleled solutions to mitigate cyber risks effectively across our entire platform,” Brennan highlighted.

One of the biggest wholesale specialty insurance distributors in North America, CRC Group is manned by more than 5,000 colleagues across the US and Canada. Its offerings span property & casualty, employee benefits, life, annuities, and long-term care.

The creation of the cyber practice group comes on the heels of recent hires at the firm. Last month, the business appointed Michael Louderback and Sam Crawford as underwriting team leader in Denver and commercial underwriter in Tampa-Bayport, respectively.
