Compare Club names new general manager
Personal finance marketplace Compare Club has appointed Eayl Machlis as its new general manager of general insurance and banking.
Machlis (pictured) is an expert in insurance and banking with over 20 years of combined corporate and entrepreneurial experience. He previously held leadership roles at Coles, Suncorp, and Commonwealth Bank of Australia – focusing on delivery, growth, sales, and strategy – before co-founding Thunder Insurance, a millennial insurance entity focusing on gaming.
In his new role at Compare Club, he will be responsible for the company’s car insurance, credit card, personal loan, and car loan verticals and lead the development of new verticals set to launch in 2023 and beyond.
Compare Club co-founder and CEO Lance Goodman said Machlis’s appointment will significantly improve the quality of expertise in the company’s general insurance and banking verticals.

With the universal intention to continue to provide the best service for our customers, Eayl’s in-depth understanding of these new verticals and overall commitment to Compare Club customers will ensure we continue to achieve these goals,” Goodman said. “We are very excited to have him join the team and to see the contribution that Eayl will bring.”
Commenting on his appointment, Machlis highlighted Compare Club’s recent milestones, including the acquisition of Lifelong Insurance Solutions as part of its trajectory to have $100 million of life insurance premiums under management and its home loan division’s 400% year-on-year growth.
“It’s a very exciting time to join Compare Club. I felt very closely aligned with the values of the company and its agile and dynamic way of working. I very much believe that anyone can make a better financial decision if they are informed [of] their options. This is a belief that Compare Club prioritises, and it is my goal to continue to grow towards this objective,” Machlis added. “I aspire to continue Compare Club’s significant year-on-year growth and look forward to the year ahead.”
