Vesttoo, the insurance-linked securities (ILS) focused insurtech company, continues to expand its global team with senior and experienced hires, the latest being William Cheney, who is departing his role at reinsurance broker and risk capital advisory Howden Tiger to join the firm.

Cheney joined the reinsurance broker, then known as TigerRisk, as a Partner just over a year ago, and was positioned to provide reinsurance, capital and strategic advisory for the firm’s largest property accounts.

Prior to his time at TigerRisk, Cheney worked at Lockton Re and co-led its property practice.

He has over 20 years of experience as a reinsurance broker, with a focus on North American property risk and expertise across a range of risk transfer structures and methods.

Cheney has held a number of positions with leadership responsibility throughout his career, with 11 years spent at Willis Re and time at Guy Carpenter before that.

Now, Cheney will join Vesttoo as of March 15th in the role of Head of Insurance US, further building out the company’s expertise in the key US insurance and reinsurance marketplace.

Cheney will work on developing business for Vesttoo from the US insurance markets, as well as strengthening the firm’s relationships with brokers across the region.
