Canal Insurance appoints new chief operating officer

Commercial auto insurer Canal Insurance has announced that it has promoted Christopher Greene (pictured above) to senior vice president and chief operating officer.

Greene joined Canal in 2009 as general counsel and was appointed to the additional role of chief claims officer in 2017. Prior to joining the company, he served as general counsel for a division of AIG. Greene has also served as corporate counsel for Progressive Insurance Company and as a trial attorney for Alabama-based law firm Gaines, Wolter & Kinney.

In his new role, Greene will be responsible for the overall operational results and coordination of activities in Canal’s claims, underwriting, product management and agency management departments. He will report to Paul Brocklebank, president and CEO of Canal.
