PSC Network is moving onward and upward and making sure to celebrate its successes on the way.

This spirit was on full display at the annual PSC Network National Conference held over three days in August at the 5-star Sofitel Adelaide.

Based around the theme of ‘Building Better Business’, the conference sessions focused on strengthening the foundations of the network for the authorised representative (AR) businesses.

The pursuit of better, by definition, has no end – ‘better’ means always improving. It is a vision that is also inherently a forward-looking one, reflected in a focus on innovation and collaboration.

PSC has a number of future-focused plans, including investment in artificial intelligence to create automated bot processes within AR businesses so that PSC Network reps can spend more time on essential human-to-human relations.

The time-dividend generated by these AI tools will allow ARs to keep their ears closer to the ground when it comes to listening to client needs and anticipating market trends.

At the same time, PSC aims to keep its independent mindset by ensuring that technology and partnerships are implemented without constraints or channel conflict. It will also use its industry-leading data to negotiate with insurer partners to develop products and solutions tailored specifically for AR clients.

Several awards were handed out at the conference as PSC Network showcased what its top ARs are able to achieve.

The winners were selected from the firm’s large network of insurance advisors across Australia for client service as well as excellence from a financial, compliance and cultural perspective. They also reflected AR’s stand-out service to their clients and their commitment to support them in the post-pandemic economy.

The Rising Star of the Year award went to Lachlan Lee and Matthew Perez of Stonewell Insurance, setting the benchmark for new ARs who recently joined the network. The prestigious AR of the Year went to Wesley Strong at Westrock Insurance Brokers, while Paul Flannery of RP Quayside took out the honours for Reliance Partner of the Year.

One special award that recognises PSC staff who have gone over and above to build a better business for network is the High Achiever award, which went to Ray Marvin (Regional Manager NSW) and Janine Shipton (Regional Manager Western) for their outstanding support in the development, testing and roll-out of APEX – PSC’s AI multi quote solution. The APEX tool will be key to PSC’s strategy in 2023 and beyond.

The Chairman’s Region of the Year went to a winner that has collectively exceeded from a financial, compliance and cultural perspective – Queensland, represented by regional manager Paul Hogan. It’s a region on the move and with preparation around the 2032 Olympics ramping up, and it will no doubt be hard to beat in the coming years.

“We are incredibly proud of our AR network and their commitment to continue to work with us to build better businesses together,” chief executive Tony Walker said.

Brokers are working very hard in the current economy to support their clients amid high inflation and runaway costs of living – but it is in times like these that good advice is most valuable and tomorrow’s high achievers are laying the groundwork for success.
