Toronto-based cyber protection and insurance provider BOXX Insurance has partnered with Cover-More Group’s World Travel Protection (WTP) to introduce a global cybersecurity solution for business travellers called Cyber Assist.

The tool offers continuous monitoring of emerging digital threats, helping travellers stay ahead of possible scams and cyberattacks. The platform alerts users to breaches, providing proactive steps to prevent identity theft by checking if sensitive information is being sold on the dark web.

If a breach occurs, Cyber Assist offers instructions to restore compromised credentials. The system also includes training modules, allowing travellers to remain informed about evolving cybersecurity threats while on the move.

WTP chief executive Adrian Leach stated: “Our partnership with BOXX enables us to provide customers with an industry-leading solution that guards against cyber risks while traveling, and alerts and supports them if credentials are compromised.

“With the rise of cyber threats targeting travellers, comprehensive protection is more critical than ever, and we are pleased to offer this novel solution.”

Vishal Kundi, BOXX Insurance CEO, emphasized the growing challenge for business travellers in today’s interconnected world.

“Data-related risk transcends national borders, and business travellers are high-value targets for criminals, with many carrying sensitive data, relying heavily on mobile devices, and moving about in busy airports and hotels with unsecured networks,” Kundi highlighted.

The risks faced by business travellers range from unsecured Wi-Fi data theft to phishing attempts, Bluetooth vulnerabilities, and more. Despite the threats, research conducted by WTP reveals that many business travellers neglect essential cybersecurity measures.

Dominic Steptoe (pictured), chief product officer at BOXX Insurance, explained the advanced technology behind Cyber Assist.

He noted: “Cyber Assist is powered by our proprietary cyber-surveillance technology, providing the most effective combination of cyber threat prediction and prevention. Our partnership with WTP has enabled us to create a first-in-class cyber solution for business travellers so they can stay securely connected to colleagues and loved ones.”

Cyber Assist will automatically be available to all WTP clients, offering identity monitoring, guided support in managing cyber threats, ongoing cybersecurity education, and practical advice for enhancing online safety.

Separately, BOXX Insurance announced a global collaboration with Cover-More Group to provide cybersecurity insurance and protection solutions for both business and leisure travellers worldwide.
