BMS names International CEO as business eyes Australia, other key markets

8 September 2022

BMS says Nick Gillett will join in January as International CEO as the UK-based specialist broker steps up its focus in Australia and other key target markets.

Mr Gillett is presently with Aon, as Chief Broking Officer, Global Broking Centre in the UK, according to his LinkedIn profile. He was MD of Aon Benfield Singapore before spending more than 20 years at Aon and its subsidiaries.

When he takes up the BMS role, he will be supported by Chairman of International Operations Peregrine Towneley and MD David Battman.

BMS says they will work very closely with the business’s growing international operations around the world and will focus on creating increased scale in Australasia, Asia, Latin America, Canada and Western Europe.

“It is fantastic that [Mr Gillett] is joining us as CEO of BMS International,” BMS Group CEO Nick Cook said.

He says BMS is a destination for “top flight senior talent” and Mr Gillett fits the profile to lead the broker’s international growth in specialty retail.

“[Mr Gillett] is highly respected, personable, commercially astute and has exceptional strategic vision,” Mr Cook said.

“BMS’s strategic goal is to invest and grow our international platform and continue to accelerate our global expansion.

“This follows our seventh acquisition within the last two years and in the last 12 months we have announced acquisitions in Australia, Mexico, and Spain with further M&A deals in the pipeline.”
