BizCover expands NZ SME insurance platform

23 June 2022

BizCover will include Auckland-based Ando Insurance as part of its New Zealand business insurance comparison platform in a move it says will expand options for small businesses.

Ando, which is underwritten by Hollard, will add its business insurance pack to BizCover’s platform, providing material damage and business interruption cover to customers.

BizCover’s Head of Product Channels and Risk Jane Mason says Ando is a “fantastic addition” to its small business insurance platform.

“Their initial offering adds a comprehensive alternative for our customers in an important line of cover, creating greater access to insurance for SMEs and contributing to competitive and stable pricing through contestability,” Ms Mason said.

Ando is the third insurer to partner with BizCover since the launch of its New Zealand service in 2011, with AIG and Dual also offering small business insurance products on its platform.

Ms Mason says the commercial insurer’s tech-based service operates in an aligned direction with BizCover’s platform.

“A lot of their channels are digitised, which fits in with our distribution model at BizCover,” she said.

“They definitely do things differently compared to existing, established markets. Perhaps that’s why they’ve experienced significant growth.”
