BHSI appoints Regional Property Head for Australia and New Zealand

15 November 2022

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has announced that Craig Taylor will be its new Regional Head of Property for Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Taylor has served as BHSI’s Head of Property Lines in Australia since 2015 and will see his role expanded to include further responsibilities.

He holds more than 25 years of property underwriting experience, including previous roles at Zurich, HDI Global, and Aviva.

BHSI Head of Australasia Mark Lingafelter says Mr Taylor’s promotion to the role comes as the company looks to expand its technical lines, corporate and mid-market sectors in the region.

“Over the last seven years, Craig has led the development of our Property and Risk Engineering team in Australia, and developed a strong reputation for exceptional service and technical capability with our customers and brokers,” Mr Lingafelter said.

“We believe Berkshire brings unique capabilities to the market, and we are excited about the opportunity to further develop our Property business across the region.”

Mr Taylor will continue to be based in Sydney.
