ILS Bermuda Ltd., the group that promotes economic development through the growth of insurance-linked securities (ILS) and alternative risk transfer in Bermuda, has announced the keynote speaker for its Convergence 2024 networking event later this year.

Paul Craven, an international speaker and specialist in behavioural science with a background in the asset management industry will be the main keynote speaker at the event.

He has a unique perspective on decision-making gained through his extensive experience and expertise, and is a specialist in behavioural science, particularly the business psychology of persuasion.

His career included almost 30 years spent working in the global asset management industry at Schroders, PIMCO, and Goldman Sachs.

Craven has also served on the Investment Committee of the £2 billion Akzo Nobel pension scheme since 2014.

His keynote speech will explore the behavioural economics of decision-making, which ILS Bermuda noted is crucial for analysts, underwriters, and risk executives in the ILS and alternative risk transfer markets.

Jo Stanton, Chair of ILS Bermuda, said, “We’re excited to welcome Paul Craven, whose groundbreaking work in behavioural science uncovers how human behaviour shapes market trends.

“Paul’s keynote promises to unravel the fascinating ways our actions influence economic outcomes and demonstrate that the smallest change can lead to outsized gains. We can’t wait to dive into a session that’s sure to be as enlightening as it is engaging.”

The ILS Bermuda event Convergence 2024 will be held on the island between October 7th and 9th 2024. More details can be found here: https://ilsbermuda.com/convergence
