Beazley reshuffles international management liability team

Specialist insurance group Beazley has announced the retirement of Catherina MacCabe (pictured above), focus group leader of its international management liability (IML) team. Starting July 1, she will be succeeded by Oliver Wheeler (pictured below). Additionally, Emma Pereira has been promoted to product leader for the team.

MacCabe has been leading the IML team for over five years. During that time, she helped the IML team become a leader in the London market and contributed to the growth of Beazley’s book of directors & officers (D&O) and management liability business in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

“Catherina will leave a legacy of underwriting excellence, and under her leadership, the IML team has gone from strength to strength,” said Gerard Bloom, head of international, specialty risks. “I will miss her greatly, as will her colleagues, brokers, clients and peers. I wish her a very well-deserved retirement.”

Taking over from MacCabe is Wheeler, who first joined Beazley in 2021. He previously held various underwriting and leadership positions with AON London, Chubb, Axis and Liberty, and has managed financial lines portfolios in New York and Madrid.

“The strength and depth of the IML team is evidenced by Oli taking over the reins, supported by Emma who also starts her new role on the 1st of July,” Bloom said. “Their combined talents and experience will be invaluable as we seek to deliver our ambitious growth plans and help our clients to navigate the increasingly tricky liability risk landscape they face in these turbulent times.”
