AXA XL taps global innovation lead

New lead previously oversaw P&C business innovation centre for AXA Next

AXA XL has named Dan Bendavid as its global lead for innovation, as part of the operations and technology team. In this new role, Bendavid will head the division for innovation strategy and manage a global team of experts to lead the implementation of new initiatives, in partnership with other firms and collaborators.

Bendavid comes from parent company AXA, where he worked on strategic initiatives such as the group digital strategy for operations and services. In his prior role, he also managed programs in Spain and Italy before leading general insurance claims operations in seven countries across Asia Pacific. After that, he joined AXA Next, where he led the P&C business innovation centre. Prior to AXA, he was a senior engagement manager at McKinsey in Paris.

According to his LinkedIn, Bendavid holds a master’s degree in management information systems, finance and marketing from the CentraleSupélec in France.

AXA XL chief innovation, data and analytics officer Ashok Krishnan said that Bendavid’s previous experience with AXA and the work he has done at AXA Next has positioned him ideally in this new role.

We understand the opportunities that technology and innovation present for (re)insurers that are prepared to push the boundaries, and we are investing in our team to do just that. Dan and his team will work across the organization, harnessing our collective expertise to deliver new solutions that deliver value for our clients and brokers,” Krishnan said.
