AXA XL bolsters cyber insurance business

“As digital threats grow more sophisticated and malicious, we keep enhancing our underwriting approach to help our clients manage cyber risks,” said Jeremy Gittler, head of cyber insurance in the Americas for AXA XL. “These new roles will help us direct more focus on our growth strategy and find innovative ways to address our clients’ more complicated cyber and tech E&O risks.”

In her new role, Rossini will lead the company’s go-to-market strategy in the US cyber insurance market. Rossini began her insurance career in 2014 as a graduate trainee at Hiscox and quickly gravitated toward cyber underwriting. She joined AXA XL in 2018 and most recently served as cyber underwriting manager for the company’s West Zone.

Suckerman has nearly 20 years of cyber insurance experience and 30 years of E&O underwriting experience. In his new role, he will take the lead on underwriting accounts with the most complex E&O and cyber exposures and build appropriate insurance program structures. Suckerman joined AXA XL in 2012.

“Our market leadership is the result of our strong bench of cyber underwriting talent,” Gittler said. “As Rachel and Vern take on these new roles, we’re pleased to announce some well-earned regional management promotions and to welcome back a former team member.”

Greg Chambers has been promoted to Suckerman’s former role as underwriting manager for AXA XL’s Central Zone. Chambers has nearly 20 years of industry experience. He joined AXA XL in 2015 after stints at Marsh and CNA.

Adam Jaffer has rejoined the company to assume Rossini’s former role as underwriting manager for the West Zone. Jaffer returns to the company after a brief tenure with Corvus. He previously spent five years with AXA XL’s cyber team. Jaffers began his career as an IT technician before applying his IT expertise to cyber underwriting.

Erik Barnes has been promoted to underwriting manager for the Northeast Zone. Barnes began his underwriting career at Ironshore and joined AXA XL in 2018. He joined the insurance industry in major accounts support at Conner Strong & Buckelew in Philadelphia.
