AXA Climate, the parametric specialist risk transfer managing general agent (MGA) unit of global insurance and reinsurance company AXA, has hired former Global Parametrics employee Toby Behrmann to become Head of London Market & Public Private Partnerships at the firm.

Behrmann was most recently Head of Partnerships & Business Development at parametric risk transfer specialist Global Parametrics, a position he’d held for six years.

Prior to that he worked at micro-insurance fintech Stonestep for almost three years, before which he worked in various locations around the world for FIAS International, a specialist MGA focused on providing insurance to the underserved that was part of AIG.

Behrmann has now joined AXA Climate and takes on the key role of building out the MGA’s London markets and public private partnerships business.

Behrmann stated on his move, “I’ll be based in London to utilise the power of the London Market to drive AXA Climate’s purpose to make regenerative business universal.

“I have always believed that risk transfer is a core component both for ensuring development and enabling growth from the individual, to the corporate, to the state, for the world.

“Now its time to take the next step and ensure we don’t just keep things as they are – we regenerate.”

Behrmann’s previous employer Global Parametrics was recently sold to Swiss headquartered weather index insurance and parametric risk transfer specialist CelsiusPro AG.
