Award-winning insurance leader Jenny Whitby on choosing her niche

The insurance industry has many sectors, and choosing a niche may for some feel like an overwhelming process.

In an interview with IB, Jenny Whitby, national cyber manager at ATC Insurance Solutions and an Insurance Business Australia Elite Women 2023 winner, shared how she selected hers and detailed her biggest achievement.

“From the start, cyber insurance fascinated me, and I naturally gravitated towards making it my niche,” Whitby said. “The cyber insurance market has given me opportunities I never thought possible.”

Whitby’s top achievement to date has been “uprooting my life and moving to Australia to build out the cyber book at ATC,” she shared.

“It was a big step, one not taken lightly but one that I am grateful I was offered every single day,” Whitby said. “I am given a lot of autonomy to be as creative and forward thinking as I can be in my role, and the support is there to help me realise my ideas or help me when things don’t quite go to plan.”
