Ausure City & Rural has taken a significant step forward by incorporating Ausure Insurance Brokers Adelaide into its operations.

Commenting on the deal, managing director Travis Miller said: “Ausure City & Rural began with me and just one staff member, and we have significantly grown since then. Since 2018, we have since purchased three other Ausure ARs, and we now have five experienced and knowledgeable staff.”

Ausure City & Rural’s acquisitions

The acquisitions, including Greg Hall in 2021, DPR Adelaide in 2022, and Plan4 in 2023 – along with the onboarding of Travis’s brother Matt Miller after his long service at CGU – have expanded the company’s reach across Adelaide, the Barossa Valley, Riverland, and Alice Springs. These moves have strengthened Ausure City & Rural’s market position and service capability.

The latest addition, Ausure Insurance Brokers Adelaide, came about through the facilitation of Ausure general manager of distribution Graeme Lilley, who introduced Travis Miller to Terry Hopper, principal of Ausure Insurance Brokers Adelaide.

The acquisition is part of a transition plan, enabling Hopper to move into retirement. Having started his insurance career in 1967 and been with Ausure Group since approximately 2008, Hopper expressed his readiness to retire.

“I now am 75, and I have loved what we do. But now I must call it quits, my plans now are to enjoy life,” he said. “I have an active social life with friends and family, and I am looking forward to the small enjoyments such as watching train and music videos, listening to rock and roll and dancing with my wife, who is much better than me.”
