Market Lane Insurance Group Australia Pty Ltd (Market Lane Insurance Group) has expanded its operations into New Zealand with the establishment of Market Lane Insurance Group (NZ) Limited, marking the company’s first international venture.

This new entity serves as a fully owned subsidiary of the Australian parent company, aiming to provide advanced underwriting and placement solutions tailored for contemporary and future risks.

What to expect from Market Lane NZ

The New Zealand branch, headquartered in Christchurch, is led by Kelsey Craver (appointed as country head, NZ) and Sarah Skelton (taking on the role of senior underwriter).

Operating initially under the name “The Barn Underwriting Agency – New Zealand,” Market Lane Insurance Group NZ aims to replicate the service offerings and risk management solutions that have contributed to its Australian counterpart’s success.

The company will draw on their collective resources, including central operations, partnerships & engagement, claims, and compliance, among others, to support its New Zealand operations.

David Porteous, group managing director of Market Lane Insurance Group, expressed enthusiasm about the company’s international expansion.

“We are truly excited by our first international expansion here at Market Lane and look forward to working with all our partners in the development of Market Lane NZ, The Barn NZ, and new business opportunities to come,” he said.
