New exec has been instrumental in advancing the company’s underwriting capabilities

Kathie Tutty (pictured) has been named the new chief underwriter at Asteron Life, with her appointment set to take effect on May 31.
Currently the underwriting manager and principal underwriter at Asteron Life, Tutty has extensive experience from her previous roles at AIA and Partners Life. She has been instrumental in advancing the underwriting function at Asteron Life. Tutty’s career in life insurance underwriting spans nearly 30 years.

Grant Willis, executive general manager life, said Tutty’s promotion is a recognition of her substantial expertise and dedication.
“Kathie’s promotion to the role of chief underwriter and member of the life leadership team recognises her passion and ambition for our business and her desire to take our underwriting performance and strategy to the next level,” he said.
Commenting on her new role, Tutty said: “Throughout my career, I have always had a passion for finding the best customer outcomes, and I am eager and excited to collaborate with such a talented team and contribute to Asteron Life’s continued success and growth in the industry.”
Asteron Life’s growth plans
Willis said that Asteron Life is in a phase of significant growth, bolstered by Resolution Life Australasia and a recently announced proposed sale.
“I know our advisers and distribution partners will value Kathie’s deep knowledge of our business as well as her breadth of experience in the industry. We look forward to Kathie stepping into this role at this critical time and helping shape our new business growth in the future,” he said.
Asteron Life is preparing for ongoing expansion in the life insurance market, with Tutty expected to play a significant role in guiding the company’s future underwriting initiatives.
Arthur, whose official start date at Asteron Life was March 25, is known for his expertise in strategic leadership and distribution within the financial services industry, especially life insurance.
Like Tutty, Arthur stepped into his role as Asteron Life gears up for further growth, witnessing a surge in share of new business.
