Global (re)insurer Aspen has announced the appointment of industry veteran Tay Boon Chuan as head of Singapore, effective June 1.

Boon comes from Tokio Marine Kiln, in which he spent 12 years. He previously worked as part of the firm’s property treaty reinsurance team, most recently as Asia treaty team lead.

According to his LinkedIn, Boon also worked at Asia Capital Re as treaty head for property and engineering, in addition to a nine-year stint at Swiss Re as a treaty underwriter for property and engineering.

Aspen group chief underwriting office Christian Dunleavy said that Boon’s expertise in the industry will give the firm an edge in further establishing itself in the region.

“We are thrilled to announce the appointment of industry veteran, Tay Boon Chuan, as Head of Singapore. Boon brings a wealth of experience of the Asian treaty market and will be well-placed to spearhead our well-established offering for the region,” Dunleavy said.
