Artex Capital Solutions names Wilson SVP Advisory and Head of Underwriting

Artex Capital Solutions, the specialist unit of Artex Risk Solutions that creates and manages insurance-linked securities (ILS) and related structures for matching risk with capital, has appointed Christopher Wilson as its SVP Advisory and Head of Underwriting, based in Bermuda.

Wilson had worked at Artex since 2017, spending over five years based in Guernsey, before moving to Bermuda for the firm in 2023, where he is based today for the new role.

He took on the new position in January this year and this will see Wilson with oversight of insurance, reinsurance and retrocession arrangements, underpinned by ILS and other capital solutions.

Wilson began his career at reinsurance brokerage Willis Re, where he was a Divisional Director for more than a decade and spent four years based in Tokyo, Japan for the firm.

Wilson joined Artex Risk Solutions in Guernsey in 2017, first working as an ILS Underwriter.

In 2020, Wilson was promoted to the role of Head of ILS Underwriting for Artex Risk Solutions (Guernsey) Limited.

Then, in 2023 Wilson made the move to Bermuda and became a Senior Client Partner on the island for Artex.

He now puts his significant experience to work in a leadership position focused on advisory and underwriting for the company’s Artex Capital Solutions business.
