Ardonagh Specialty has appointed Jonathan Marsh as its new Deputy CEO of Bermuda and also the Global Head of Retro broking at dedicated reinsurance arm Inver Re.

Marsh had been a long-standing reinsurance and retro specialist broker at Willis Re prior to its acquisition by Gallagher.

Most recently at Gallagher Re, Marsh had held the role of Chairman of the Bermuda office, prior to which he had worked for roughly 26 years at Willis Re in roles including Chairman, CEO and Deputy CEO of the Global Specialty division.

Now, Marsh joins Ardonagh Specialty’s Bermudian business operations to work alongside CEO Chris Bonard, subject to immigration approval.

As Global Head of Retrocession at Inver Re, Marsh will also be tasked with building out Inver Re’s retro capabilities.

Chris Bonard commented on the news, “It’s great to have Jonathan on board to help us expand our retro team, drive new business – and continue to build a responsive and agile option for clients. He’s well known and respected across the industry and brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise that will help us achieve our ambitious growth plans.”

Jonathan Marsh added, “I’m incredibly excited to be joining the team at Inver Re and join their mission to build a client-focused alternative to the big three. The combination of an agile start-up mentality with the power of Ardonagh behind presents a compelling opportunity to shake up the market.”
