Aon hires Shedden from Sompo Int. to lead reinsurance analytics

Aon has announced the hiring of Paul Shedden to a global role in its Reinsurance Solutions division that will see the former Sompo International executive leading global and UK analytics activities for the broker.

From october 17th, Shedden becomes the global head of analytics for Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions, reporting to Andy Marcell, global CEO of the unit and will join the Reinsurance Solutions global leadership team as well.

As well as the global reinsurance analytics role, Shedden will also take direct responsibility for the UK analytics function, reporting to Rupert Moore, UK CEO of Reinsurance Solutions, and joining the Reinsurance Solutions UK leadership team.

Shedden was most recently head of Portfolio Design, Pricing and Analytics – Global Insurance at Sompo International, where he worked for more than two years.

Before that, he has held senior actuarial and analytics roles at re/insurers AXA XL, XL Catlin and Catlin, including as the Chief Executive for Data, Pricing and Analytics at AXA XL, and as the Chief Actuary at Catlin in Bermuda.

Paul will play a pivotal role in enabling Analytics to respond to these evolving and underserved areas where clients require information and insights.”

As well as driving collaboration and innovation across Reinsurance Solutions’ analytics and broking teams, Shedden will also be tasked with harnessing the technical expertise within the regional and product solution teams to create innovative client solutions on a global scale at Aon.

He will also chair the Analytics Leadership Committee, responsible for the Analytics’ global strategy, coordination of resources and investments, including acquisitions, for Reinsurance Solutions.
