ANZ has pledged a financial contribution of $100,000 to aid those affected by ex-Tropical Cyclone (TC) Jasper in Far North Queensland (FNQ).

The funds will be evenly distributed between two organisations actively engaged in disaster response and recovery efforts – the Australian Red Cross and the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR).

ANZ general manager Queensland Jackie Auf der Maur expressed empathy for the impacted individuals and acknowledged the Queensland government’s initiation of the recovery appeal with a $1.5 million donation.

“We’ve seen how resilient the people of Far North Queensland have been in coming together. The devastation of the flooding continues to impact the community and during this difficult time, it is important they are supported,” she said. “This donation is one way we can help the community recover, in addition to the financial support measures we are offering our customers.”

Despite temporary closures during the flooding, ANZ branches have resumed operations. Customers are encouraged to visit these branches or reach out to their relationship managers to discuss the impact on their business or personal circumstances.

Furthermore, customers with ANZ home and contents Insurance may qualify for emergency funds and temporary accommodation. To initiate an insurance claim, customers can contact 13 16 14 or visit anz.com.au/insuranceclaims.
