Angel Risk Management opens new Chelmsford office

Earlier this week, Angel Risk Management – which specialises in underwriting products for the small to medium-sized sector on behalf of AXA XL – opened its new Chelmsford office at Marlborough House.

In line with AXA’s global commitment to increased flexibility for colleagues and redefining the way the business works with clients and brokers, the office has been designed with Smart Working in mind; it has no dedicated seating plan, sit-stand desks, lockers and collaborative and event spaces.

The new office reflects Angel’s branding and supports AXA XL’s journey towards reducing its carbon footprint, with energy efficient lighting and bike storage for colleagues who choose to cycle to work.

Sean McGovern, CEO, UK & Lloyd’s at AXA XL, said: “It’s been fantastic to visit Chelmsford today to welcome Angel colleagues into the new work environment and to see the pride and excitement they’ve felt. Angel is an important part of our strategy for the UK and this new space is a further demonstration of our support for what the team has achieved over the past few years and our plans for this part of the business going forward.”

Simon Martell, Head of Angel Risk Management, added: “I’m absolutely delighted with how the new workspace has turned out. When we were designing the new layout, we were determined to ensure it would reflect who we are and what we do; so we’ve created a funky space that really facilitates innovation and collaboration through things like a designated ‘innovation station’ and ‘collaboration zone’, for example. Changes like these will really help us to embed our Smart Working initiative for colleagues, redefine how we work with our brokers and differentiate our business in the market.”
