Alliant Insurance Services has announced the appointment of Dan Berry as venture capital leader and executive vice president at Alliant M&A. He will be based in San Francisco.

Berry has more than two decades of industry experience, with specialized expertise in the risk management and insurance needs of venture capital and private equity firms and their portfolio companies. Prior to joining Alliant, he served as the private equity and venture capital group leader at a national brokerage firm. Berry’s leadership experience also includes a stint as a sergeant in the US Marine Corps.

“The addition of Dan’s specialized management liability expertise is a significant asset to our M&A clients, as he brings his experience in serving leading venture capital and private equity firms across the country,” said Peter Arkley, president of Alliant Retail P&C. “Dan acts as an extension of his clients’ businesses to truly understand their distinctive risks and tailor business insurance solutions that empower informed decision-making. Alliant and our clients are fortunate to have a professional leader of Dan’s caliber join our team.”

Berry is the latest in a string of hires at Alliant. Last month, the national firm announced the appointment of Martin Khalaf as a senior vice president in the Alliant Americas division. The division also gained another vice president with the appointment of Greg Sanford.
