American International Group, Inc. (AIG) recently announced that Melissa Twiningdavis (pictured) will assume the role of executive vice president and chief administrative officer starting September 1, 2024.

Twiningdavis will be based in New York and will directly report to Peter Zaffino, chairman and chief executive officer of AIG. Her responsibilities will include overseeing global administrative services which cover a broad spectrum from global sourcing and procurement to real estate, facilities, and shared services operations.

Additionally, Twiningdavis will join AIG’s executive leadership team.

Peter Zaffino welcomed Twiningdavis with high expectations, emphasising her impressive background in corporate transformation. “Melissa has demonstrated exceptional leadership in streamlining operations and driving growth. Her expertise will be invaluable as AIG continues to focus on enhancing operational efficiency and strategic development,” he said.

Expressing her enthusiasm about her new role, Twiningdavis said: “It’s an exciting time to be part of a company that’s on a clear trajectory towards becoming a leader in the global property and casualty insurance market. I am thrilled to lead our talented administrative teams and to contribute to AIG’s continued success and innovation.”

Prior to her upcoming role at AIG, Twiningdavis held several significant positions. She was at the helm of Global Supply Chain Operations at Accenture since January 2022 and formerly served as president at Precision Castparts Corporation, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway.

Her extensive experience also includes a 20-year tenure at General Electric, where she held various leadership roles, most notably as vice president and corporate officer, handling Supply Chain and Sourcing for Europe.

Twiningdavis’s educational achievements include earning dual Master of Science degrees from Tufts University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Muhlenberg College, equipping her with a solid foundation in both technical and international business arenas. With Twiningdavis’s appointment, AIG reinforces its commitment to operational excellence and strategic growth.
