AIA Singapore appoints new chief of partnership distribution

AIA Singapore has appointed Kelvin Kua as chief partnership distribution officer, effective Aug. 1. Kua will report to Wong Sze Keed, AIA Singapore CEO.

He will succeed Richard Wyber, who leaves AIA after more than 15 years. Wyber held various leadership roles, including heading Vitality, healthcare and partnership distribution, at both the group and Singapore level.

Kua joined AIA Singapore in 2011, bringing significant experience in business development for bancassurance. According to AIA, Kua helped grow the business with key bancassurance partners and is a respected leader that has strengthened his team’s capabilities in navigating important partner relationships across both the retail and high net worth markets.

“I am delighted to welcome Kelvin to the leadership team as chief partnership distribution officer,” Wong said. “With his proven track record and his deep understanding of bancassurance, I am confident that he will lead his team to achieve even greater levels of success. At the same time, I would like to underscore the importance of this appointment, as it once again demonstrates AIA’s commitment to talent development and internal mobility to ensure we give the best opportunities to our people.

“I would like to express my sincere thanks to Richard for working alongside me in driving the partnership distribution business. His commitment and dedication to AIA Singapore are deeply appreciated, and I wish him the very best and success in his future endeavours.”
