AGCS names APAC head of property

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has appointed Nick Wood (pictured above) as regional head of property, AGCS Asia-Pacific. He succeeds Victorio Villar, who has decided to leave Allianz.

Villar will remain with AGCS until the end of the year to help ensure a smooth transition for the property portfolio, the insurer said.

Wood has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, most of which was spent underwriting and managing property teams across the Asia-Pacific region. He joined AGCS in 2019 as regional property specialist and was most recently head of property, Pacific, while holding the concurrent appointment of deputy head of property, Asia-Pacific.

Before joining AGCS, Wood spent 10 years at AIG, where he held various executive and senior executive positions. His last role at AIG was head of property and special risks for Greater China and Australasia, a role that covered all short-tail lines.
