AEGIS London has added an enhanced property extension to its existing digital errors and omissions (E&O) package.

The extension provides more cost-effective protections for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in Canada, with competitive pricing for business interruption, contents and tenants improvements cover, the Lloyd’s insurer said in a news release.

It also includes optional covers for sewer backup, water damage, flood, earthquake, boiler and machinery issues, and crime-related incidents.

“Our Canadian coverholders tell us there’s a real need in the market for high-quality commercial property and contents cover for smaller organisations,” said Chris Fitzgerald (pictured), property class underwriter. “We’ve listened to their feedback and used it to build a new cover level tailored to SMEs’ budgets.”

AEGIS London began offering a property extension to its E&O package in 2019. The new lower-priced cover adds to extensions for commercial general liability, directors and officers (D&O) liability, and first-party cyber breach.

“This is a tough time for small businesses in Canada,” said Fitzgerald. “With that in mind, we’re also building more bespoke features to our range of property extensions and some higher coverage extension limits for clients who want them.”

In 2019, AEGIS London also launched a digital trading division to develop and distribute digital products for the international market.
