ACC appoints deputy chief executive, corporate and finance

ACC has appointed Stewart McRobie (pictured above) as deputy chief executive, corporate and finance, effective Aug. 8.

He will head ACC’s corporate and finance group, which will be established on July 4. The group will provide strategic and operational advice and support to the organisation, encompassing the functions of finance, legal, risk and assurance, actuarial, procurement and property, privacy, and governance.

McRobie is currently the chief financial officer of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). He also leads the MBIE’s finance and performance group, which oversees finance functions, including procurement, e-invoicing, risk, assurance and organisational performance.

McRobie has vast experience across the private and public sectors in banking, insurance and government, spanning a broad range of corporate and finance functions, ACC said.

He previously served as chief financial officer and held other senior finance roles at several organisations, including ASB, AMP and, most recently, the New Zealand Racing Board, where he also acted as CEO for an extended period.

“Stewart’s executive experience in large-scale, complex organisations and his deep understanding of stewardship and governance will be incredibly valuable to ACC, as will his personable style and commitment to developing high-performing teams,” said ACC chief executive Megan Main.
