AA Insurance has announced the addition of Paula Williams to its leadership team as chief people officer (CPO), effective from April 22.

Williams (pictured) will transition to this role following her consultancy tenure at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, where she played a key role during a pivotal transition period.

Who is Paula Williams?

Williams’s career is marked by her leadership positions across a spectrum of sectors, including roles at IAG, Air New Zealand, and MediaWorks.

Bringing over 20 years of leadership experience in people management, culture, and communications from a diverse array of fields including finance, insurance, aviation, and media, Williams is recognised for her ability to lead transformative programs and develop solutions aligned with business objectives.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Williams is actively participating in charity work with organisations such as Sweet Louise and 10×10 philanthropy. She also extends her expertise through coaching to help nurture the next generation of leaders within the charity sector.

What to expect from AA Insurance’s new CPO

Michelle James, CEO of AA Insurance, highlighted Williams’s approach to nurturing talent and her alignment with the company’s vision to adapt and thrive in an evolving landscape.

“Paula’s genuine passion for seeing people thrive and achieve their potential is a great fit for AA Insurance as we continue to evolve our business to meet the challenges and opportunities of our changing world. Her strategic and people-centric approach will be pivotal in shaping AA Insurance’s future and driving our people strategy forward,” she said.
