Report proposes 'self-funding' insurance model for export industries

Welcome back to Insurance News for 2023. The return of our Monday bulletin marks the resumption of our regular insuranceNEWS.com.au services.  

So we’re back every working day with insuranceNEWS.com.au Daily, while our weekly INsight podcast that brings together Insurance News journalists and the occasional expert ring-in will resume on Wednesday. 

In August last year we launched The Broker, an intermediary-focused online service designed to keep brokers abreast of things that matter to them and impact on them. It has been an instant success, and this year it will continue to develop. 

When Insurance News started with a readership of a few thousand we promised to always be accurate, relevant and balanced in our reporting. Our aim was to provide news and information that would help insurance professionals make well-informed decisions. That intent hasn’t changed. Facts kill gossip.  

But our audience has certainly grown. Today insuranceNEWS.com.au has 30,825 subscribers around Australia and the world, and The Broker already has 13,948 subscribers who identify as working in the intermediary area. 

Then there’s our magazine – the last local insurance publication to be available in both print and online form. Like all our publications, it can lay claim to having the largest audience in Australian insurance. We’re already working on enhancing the online version of the magazine to capitalise on the opportunities technology offers.  

And we plan more INsight podcasts to background significant industry developments as they happen. 

Last year our various online bulletins published a total of 2807 articles about the industry. Our Breaking News bulletins – regarded as a vital source of important information for the industry – will continue.

All these services continue to be free, with all funding for the operation coming from advertising. We thank our advertisers for their continuing support and urge our readers to support them in turn.
